Prior to World War II Eddie Chapman was a Crook, a robber or to be more precise a Safe-Breaker. During the 30's he broke in to a large number of safes up and down the United Kingdom. He was caught, but escaped and was then re-caught and imprisoned on the British Island of Jersey, and was still there during the first year of war. What happened to Eddie next has been talked about for half a century by friends, relations and admirers, all over the world. Eddie was made a German secret agent, and sent on sabotage mission to Britain, but he defected and became one of the most effective and admired British Double Agents this Century.
